Judy Murgia
Judy is a mom of three (one of whom is writing this bio) and an engineer by day. She lives in a tiny town in Maryland where she is known as the lady who knits while she walks. She knitted all the time and hardly paid any notice to looms until winter of 2012, when she was in an unfortunate biking accident, rendering her without the use of one hand, among other things, for months. Though there were many crappy things about being injured, the thing that really drove Judy crazy was the inability to knit.
So Judy turned toward looms, which she could use with her one good hand. But after scouring the internet and Michael's, she still hadn't found a loom that she really liked. So, of course, she limped out to the garage and one handedly fashioned herself her own loom (with some help from her husband). The first loom was just nails and quickly routed wood, but she liked it so much that she tweaked and prettied it up until it got to the point where it is today. |
